# Finding your way around

> How the Kitospace sidebar, workspace switcher, activity badges, and dashboard are organised, and where to find each part of the product.

## How is Kitospace laid out?

Every page shares the same frame: a slim **sidebar** down the left, a header across the top with your logo and profile picture, and the page itself in the middle. The sidebar is always on screen on a desktop; on a phone or tablet the same menu opens from the ☰ button in the header.

Each sidebar entry is an icon with a label. Collapse the sidebar with the button at its top to keep only the icons — hovering an icon still shows its name and any pending work behind it.

## What is in the sidebar?

| Entry                       | What you'll find                                                                              |
| --------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Dashboard**               | Today's snapshot of the workspace.                                                            |
| **Unit** | **Units**, **Unit Types**, **Inventory Pools**, and **Rate Plans**. |
| **Cleaning** | Cleaning and maintenance missions. |
| **Reservations & Guests** | **Reservations**, **Calendar**, **Guests**, **Guest Chat**, **Conflicts**, and **Analytics**. |
| **Marketing** | **Booking Links** for sharing your inventory. |
| **Channels & Distribution** | Publishing availability and rates to online travel agents. |
| **Contacts** | The people who run your operation. |
| **Team Chat** | Internal messaging between staff. |
| **Media Library** | Photos and files used across the workspace. |
| **Timeline** | A record of what changed in the workspace, and who changed it. |
| **Settings** | Workspace configuration, pinned at the bottom of the sidebar. |

**Unit**, **Reservations & Guests**, and **Marketing** are groups: click one to expand it and see the pages inside. The group holding the page you are on opens automatically.

<Note>
  You only see entries your role and your Organization's add-ons allow. A shorter sidebar than a colleague's is normal. An entry with a padlock is one you can open to read about, but not yet use.
</Note>

## What do the numbers next to menu items mean?

A small badge is a count of work waiting for you:

| Badge            | What it counts                                         |
| ---------------- | ------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Reservations** | Bookings with activity that needs attention. |
| **Guest Chat** | Unread messages from guests. |
| **Conflicts** | Unresolved booking conflicts, such as double bookings. |
| **Team Chat** | Unread messages from your colleagues. |

A collapsed group shows the total of everything behind it, so nothing hides while the group is closed. Counts update live — you don't need to reload the page. On a phone, the same total sits on the ☰ button, and tapping it breaks the number down by type.

## How do I switch workspaces?

If you can reach more than one property, the **workspace switcher** sits near the bottom of the sidebar and shows the workspace you are currently in. Open it and pick another to move the whole app across. **Switch workspace** in the account menu opens the full **Choose a workspace** page instead.

<Tip>
  In a multi-property setup, always glance at the switcher before creating a reservation, blocking dates, or archiving anything. The name in the switcher is the only thing that tells you which property you are about to change.
</Tip>

## What is the Organization area?

The **Organization** is the admin level above your workspaces, reached from the workspace switcher or the **Choose a workspace** page. It carries **Dashboard**, **Workspaces**, **Members**, **Roles & Permissions**, **Billing**, and its own **Settings**.

Use it for anything that spans properties: adding a workspace, inviting members, defining roles, or managing your plan. Day-to-day operational work stays inside a workspace.

## What does the Dashboard show?

**Dashboard** is the home page of a workspace and shows the state of today: an overview of reservations by month with their new, pending, completed, and cancelled counts, an occupancy view of how full you are, and a calendar preview. Unresolved booking conflicts appear as a banner at the top so they can't be missed.

You can turn dashboard panels on and off and reorder them, so the first thing you see each morning is the thing you actually act on.

## Where is my account?

Your profile picture in the top-right corner — and the **Account** row at the bottom of the sidebar — opens the same menu: your **Profile**, **Switch workspace**, your language, and **Logout**.
